  • Call for Proposals Deadline Extended You asked for it and we heard you! Due to requests for an extension on the NCPDP Call for Proposals deadline, we are happy to announce that we will be extending the deadline to September 15, 2014. Industry thought leaders and innovators are invited to submit proposals for the NCPDP Annual Technology & Business Conference, which will be held May 3-6, 2015, at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ.

    NCPDP invites pharmacy and healthcare industry leaders to respond to a Call for Proposals for the NCPDP 2015 Annual Technology & Business Conference, which will be held May 3-6, 2015, at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ.  The deadline for submitting proposals is Monday, September 1, 2014.

  • Profile Making: HL7 EHR Pharmacist/Pharmacy Provider Webinar

    NCPDP will co-sponsor this HL7 webinar on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT titled Profile Making: HL7 EHR Pharmacist/Pharmacy Provider Functional Profile. This webinar explains the HL7 EHR Pharmacist/Pharmacy Provider functional model and profile that facilitates EHR systems capture of medication and clinical-related data at the point of contact or point of care. The HL7 functional model captures data by specifying the functional requirements needed to support messaging among prescribers, pharmacist and pharmacy providers and other healthcare entities needing medication-related information. The webinar will focus on what it is, how it is linked to data structures, types and elements, who should be involved and how it can be used.

  • Educational Summit Keynoter Will be Steven Posnack, ONC

    We are excited to introduce our keynote speaker for the 2014 Educational Summit, Improving the Infrastructure for Continuity of Care, as Steven Posnack, M.S., MHS. Posnack is the director of the office of standards and technology at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) where he has led ONC's regulatory affairs, legislative analysis, and several federal policy development and coordination activities.

  • NCPDP Leaders in Washington, D.C. to Continue EDvocacy

    NCPDP leaders have been in Washington, D.C. the week of July 14 visiting with members of Congress, government agencies and offices of the administration to continue building awareness of NCPDP’s role in creating healthcare solutions and NCPDP’s value as a resource to policymakers. National solutions for Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMP) and Electronic Prior Authorization (EPA) were among specific topics of discussion.

  • It's Time to Update Your NCPDP External Code List!

    This is a reminder that the NCPDP Telecommunication Standard Version D.0 supports the NCPDP External Code List (ECL) where updated and new values are available for use with each ECL publication. To achieve consistency and standardization across all industry participants, NCPDP recommends the adoption of an annual ECL implementation schedule as well as specified Emergency ECL dates for use within the Telecommunication Standard.

    The next annual implementation is scheduled for October 15, 2014.
