The Health Care Industry Cybersecurity Task Force, created by the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015, has released its “Report on Improving Cybersecurity in the Health Care Industry.” The report outlines recommendations directed toward the healthcare industry in general, as well as to individual industry and government organizations.
The Task Force spent the past year receiving input from experts inside and outside the healthcare industry and from the general public in order to develop this report.
The Administration takes malicious cyber activity very seriously and has worked to enhance HHS cybersecurity and support the private sector. HHS looks forward to continued collaboration with healthcare industry organizations to review the findings of the Task Force and determine the best path forward for protecting our systems and patients from cyber threats within existing Departmental authorities and resources. The HPH Sector’s Cybersecurity Working Group will be reviewing the recommendations and develop an action plan for implementation.
