    Title: Network Administrator, Information Technology, NCPDP

    Major Responsibilities
    • Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's network infrastructure. This includes server maintenance and upgrades, data and configuration backups, email administration, firewalls, switches, spam and web filters, Voice over IP infrastructure, etc.
    • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
    • Secures the network by developing access control protocols, monitors for intrusion or unusual activity and ensures all antivirus/antimalware applications stay up to date. Maintain network documentation and procedures.
    • Monitors and recommends upgrades or improvements to NCPDP’s Servers, Anti-Spam hardware, VPN, Firewalls, etc. Resolves network problems and offers technical assistance to users.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Is responsible for keeping the network functioning at optimal levels. This includes the internal network (LAN) as well as the connection to the ISP.
    • Is responsible for the maintenance and patching of all desktops and laptops for both internal and external staff. The updates on currently loaded software, such as Office and Anti-Virus, must also be maintained for both internal and external staff.
    • Is responsible for being the second tier end user support for technical services. These services may include troubleshooting user pc problems, installing or uninstalling software, assisting with printer or other hardware issues, etc. The Network Administrator will be responsible for seeking assistance from the Director, Information Technology when problems are outside experience level.
    • Other duties include assigning and maintaining user logon and access privileges through Active Directory, protecting from outside threats, including hackers, viruses, spyware and malware.
    • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    • The Network Administrator will report to the Director, Information Technology on a day-to-day basis for scheduling, training, and personnel items. Director, Information Technology reports to the Senior Vice President, Industry Information Technology.
    Organizational Relationships

    The President of NCPDP may be required, during peak periods or when staff resources are limited, to redirect staff to share duties and responsibilities of others.

    • Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and 2 years’ experience as a Network Administrator; or any combination of education and experience providing the equivalent knowledge base.
    • Knowledge: Excellent understanding of Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012, Exchange Server 2010. Knowledge of network hardware and peripheral equipment, including firewalls, switches, routers and other appliances. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks, and related hardware and software. Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
    • Working knowledge of TCP/IP addressing, routing, DNS, DHCP, SaaS. Knowledge of Office 365 administration, Barracuda appliances and Fortinet firewalls a plus. Industry certifications a plus.
    • Candidate must be a self-starter who can work on own. Candidate must possess ability to plan tasks according to a schedule and execute those tasks successfully. Candidate must posses troubleshooting skills and ability to seek out solutions.
    • The position is full-time. Due to the requirements of the job, the position will reside in the Scottsdale, AZ office.
