Educational Programs
NCPDP offers Educational Programs on various health care topics that are of interest to professionals in the pharmacy
industry. These programs are hosted one day prior to the August and November Work Group Meetings. The topics of the 2006 Educational Programs were "The Big Picture: The Growing Role of NCPDP Standards in Achieving HIT Interoperability" and "The Medicare Modernization Act: Lessons from the Trenches; Opportunities for the Future". Other past topics have focused on e-Prescribing, Manufacturer Rebates, HIPAA Privacy, Version 5 and
Product Identification.
Educational Program attendees represent the diverse factions of pharmacy, with a variety of attendance depending on the
topic. The Educational Programs are of importance to PBMs, wholesalers, manufacturers, telecommunication vendors, health
plans, government agencies, pharmacies, database management organizations, insurers and more.
