NCPDP creates and promotes data interchange standards for the pharmacy services sector of the healthcare industry. We also provide information and resources that educate the industry and support the diverse needs of our members. The standards are continually revised and updated to meet the ever-changing healthcare environment. These changes to the standards are reflected by the version of each standard.
As an ANSI-accredited* organization, each version of each standard must reach balance between the different voting categories within the NCPDP membership:
- Producer / Provider
- Payer / Processor
- Vendor General Interest
Casting your vote on standards ballots and participation with NCPDP Work Groups and Task Groups are your opportunities to have a direct impact on the standards development process.
