Opening Keynote Panel: Pharmacists Today…5 Years from Now…10 Years from Now and Beyond

NCPDP handpicked six industry leaders to offer a thought-provoking look at the future of pharmacy interoperability and innovation and the evolving role of pharmacists for its Opening Keynote Panel on Tuesday, May 7th at its 2024 Annual Technology & Business Conference, Innovation Starts Here, at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. The opening session will be a provocative 90-minute discussion on Pharmacists Today…5 Years from Now…10 Years from Now and Beyond with perspectives from government, pharmacy, patient advocacy, industry analyst and more.

Panelists will look down the road at key topics including reimbursement; workforce challenges and opportunities; policy/regulation; and innovation for predictions such as: How much time will pharmacists spend dispensing five years from now? How will the clinical pharmacy model be different from the retail model? When will pharmacists be paid for clinical services? How will artificial intelligence (AI) change the role of pharmacists and their engagement with patients? Where will we be with health equity?

An internationally recognized clinical pharmacist, certified HIV Specialty Pharmacist, and the owner and CEO of Avant Pharmacy & Wellness Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is founder and president of the Avant Institute, which offers training to pharmacies across the country on the practical application of clinical pharmacy services through developing sustainable physician collaborations.
