Electronic Prescribing of Pet Medications: What You Need to Know!

  • Wednesday, May 4, 2022
  • 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Pharmacy organizations of all types have recently become aware of the high potential revenues available through expansion of services to include pet prescriptions and other veterinary medications. However, the software ecosystem that has developed to support electronic prescribing has not been able to support veterinarians as providers, multiple species, or veterinary-specific drugs. With recent updates to the SCRIPT standards, the situation has now changed, and several companies are bringing solutions to the current painful processes requiring faxes, phone calls, and printed veterinary prescriptions.
