Service Billing: Lessons learned from the Public Health Emergency and How the S1 Transaction Can Reshape Pharmacy Billing

  • Tuesday, May 9, 2023
  • 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm

The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency amplified the need for an expanded pharmacist role. It was and continues to be a challenge to use claims billing transactions for services. In addition, the healthcare industry is evolving to a reimbursement structure centered on value-based care and programs where there is an increased focus on the role pharmacists play in patient care. Pharmacists have a unique view of the patient medical profile and the ability to support the S1 transaction plays a vital role in providing additional healthcare services that may be provided faster by a pharmacist than a traditional doctor visit. This session will dive into the billing lessons learned from the Covid-19 public health emergency, innovation by reducing administrative burden including new pharmacist opportunities and adaptable billing and expanding the pharmacists role in patient healthcare.
