Streamlining REMS: Enhancing Medication Access and Patient Care Through Standards and Automation

  • Tuesday, May 7, 2024
  • 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Limited access to REMS drugs and emerging therapies due to system interoperability issues and poor stakeholder coordination results in patient delays and suboptimal care. NCPDP and HL7, through initiatives like CodeX's REMS Integration Use Case, address these challenges. A panel of REMS experts will share the outcomes from a recent pilot and highlight how attendees can get involved and leverage the work coming out of CodeX. The use case prioritizes patient welfare, especially for those in need of hard-to-access treatments. The goal is to create an efficient, automated REMS ecosystem using standards, serving as a foundational process for emerging therapies.
