The passing of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) ushered in many already and soon to be implemented operational and benefit changes in the Medicare Part D program. Several key financial and operational changes for both plans and their members required seamless implementation strategies and, more importantly, comprehensive oversight and monitoring to ensure that the IRA changes do not hinder a member’s access to the IRA promulgated changes to the Part D benefit. This presentation will focus on identifying the challenges and successes of plans and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) as they work to maintain compliance with the implemented and upcoming regulations.
