Welcome to colLAB! A free place for the healthcare industry to connect, collaborate, innovate and explore real-world use of NCPDP standards, pharmacy and provider workflows and innovations happening around pharmacy technology.
Who can attend? Everyone! An NCPDP membership is not required to attend colLAB events.
What is colLAB like? Use cases are predetermined by NCPDP member leaders and focus on a patient story to show how the patient goes through the system to get the healthcare they need. The patient story and use cases are provided ahead of time to demonstrators and attendees. On arrival, demonstrators set up their laptop and prep for the event. Attendees have an opportunity to participate in one use case or multiple use cases, depending on their interest. The event will include open discussion and dialogue about standards and workflow, demonstrations from vendors and brainstorming on innovative solutions to solve any gaps that may be discovered during the day.. Opportunities are available for technology connection, discussion, trial & error scenarios, and networking.
When Is the next colLAB? Our next colLAB event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Louisville in Louisville, KY.
What is the topic? This colLAB event’s patient story is about David. A single father with asthma who is struggling to fit in primary care visits and inhaler refills resulting in missed work, ER visits, and severe symptoms. His local pharmacist noticed a change in his prescription pick up pattern and is able to intervene to support David. We will be focusing on three use cases: Pharmacy Product Locator, Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA), and Real-Time Benefit Check (RTBC).
